How we grade the condition of every watch
Every luxury watch on our marketplace is graded using the standard below, so you know exactly what to expect before you buy. Condition is assessed during authentication and noted clearly on each listing.

Our condition grades
Never worn, typically with factory stickers intact and full original box and papers. No signs of wear anywhere on the case, bracelet, or dial.
Worn minimally, if at all. No visible scratches or marks under normal inspection. May be missing factory stickers but typically includes original box and papers.
Light, superficial wear consistent with occasional use — fine hairline marks possible on the case or bracelet, but nothing that detracts from the overall appearance. Fully functional.
Visible signs of regular wear, including light scratches, small dings, or bracelet stretch typical of a watch worn consistently over time. Fully functional, with any cosmetic wear disclosed and photographed on the listing.
Noticeable wear, which may include deeper scratches, case polish history, or wear commensurate with an older or heavily used piece. Still fully functional and authenticated, with all condition details disclosed upfront.
How we assess condition
Condition grading happens as part of our standard authentication process. Each watch is inspected in person, under good lighting, and compared against the criteria above for its case, bracelet or strap, dial, crystal, and movement performance. Where a watch has a notable flaw that falls outside its general grade — such as a replaced part or a service history gap — we call that out separately on the listing rather than letting it get absorbed into the overall grade.
Photography and listing accuracy
- Listing photos are taken of the actual watch you’ll receive, not stock or manufacturer imagery
- Any notable wear, scratches, or cosmetic issues are photographed and described in the listing
- Box and papers status — full set, watch only, or partial — is stated clearly for every listing
Servicing and mechanical condition
Condition grading reflects cosmetic and functional state at the time of listing, not a guarantee of when a watch was last serviced. Where service history is known, it’s noted on the listing. Mechanical watches may benefit from routine servicing over time regardless of cosmetic grade, consistent with normal ownership of a mechanical timepiece.
